I bought the Fisher & Paykel 523L French Door Fridge (RF523GDUX1) because it was one of the few fridges of its size and energy rating (4*) with plumbed chilled water and an automatic ice maker. Both of these feature work very well! We've now been using this fridge for a month, and can say it's a vast improvement on our previous one. The layout (french doors and two drawers with one sub-draw) and flexibility of the layout (i.e. use the middle draw as a fridge if you turn off the ice maker and shelves are easily moved) is great! It is easy to clean and has plenty of space for my small family, with room left over for when we have visitors or parties. It also looks very nice in my kitchen, although due to the stainless steel finish it is prone to easily being marked with fingerprints and smudges. I only have a few minor issues with this fridge: 1) it does not come with egg holders (so I kept the ones from my old fridge); 2) the french doors are quite hard to open and close due to the seal - presumably to maintain such a high energy rating; 3) you cannot fully open or close each of fruit and veg chiller drawers with only one door open and 4) when the ice maker is turned on the occasional sound of dropping ice is quite loud.

I bought this over three weeks ago to replace my Westinghouse fridge with the same features. Fisher & Paykel has much cleaner lines and more internal space as the ice maker is not bulky unlike the other fridges. Does the job as expected. I noticed that the egg crates are not provided, which is a bit odd, but it is not a deal breaker. The water dispenser provides cold water, however it is sufficient only for a couple of glass, beyond that the water temp is noticeably the same as the one coming out of the tap. You have to turn off the ice maker manually when the ice bin is full, unlike the Westinghouse where it has a mechanical sensor that detects full bin and stops the ice maker from generating the next batch. I love that the shelves are adjustable to fit in different sizes of food, from tall bottles and large cakes. smaller sizes in takeaway containers. Support is excellent, I have an issue with the broken shelf cover hinge and replacement is on the way. Lastly because here is a flap in the middle to seal the doors just remember to close the door with a push, as it will not self close.

Highly recommend this fridge water is only cool and not cold but with ice in it great very happy
