Good battery easy to use
Had this battery for two years now, bought it from Appliances Online, used it several times on camping drips, mostly to power our Dometic 45L fridge and various tech stuff/phones/lights etc. We charge it with a 150w solar panel bought from BCF, which takes about 3 hrs on good sun. They all work together very well, and no issues at all. I got mine in a sale for $800ish, but I've noticed they rarely drop this far in the last year. It will run the fridge for around 44hrs, if opened only few times a day. Obviously the more you open the fridge the more power you use. Guess i'd still buy it at full price, but if you can grab it in a sale...
Great for powering your portable fridge / freezer
Before I used this battery in anger I thought it would be useful to do my own benchmarking with my portable fridge freezer at home. I appreciate that the ambient conditions of my house (20 deg constant) won’t reflect 100% Australia’s variable weather - but at least I’d have a starting point. My Fridge is a Dometic / Waeco 50l and for test I let the fridge stabilise for 24hrs at each temperature on mains power before I’d switch it over to a full battery. The fridge was filled with 6 x 1l bottles of water. I’d also only run the battery down to 25% - so these results are extrapolated. -15deg C : 40hrs. -10deg C : 54hrs. -5deg C 72hrs +4deg C : 120hrs. Hope this helps others!
