Works well, till it gets a water tank error
We have had this dryer since May 2022 and it's been good most of the time. Build quality is solid and it's easy to use. It drys well but stops when towels aren't completely dry and the small water tank needs emptying after each use. After many cycles, the sensor for the fill water tank has become faulty and it thinks it needs emptying when it's already empty. Thus stopping drying in its tracks, so it becomes a paperweight.
Exceptional dryer
The Whirlpool WHP80250 is an exceptional dryer. It sucks the moisture out of your laundry, leaving clothes ready for the clothes closet. Dumping 2+ liters of water from a load of shirts or towels is standard fare.
Do not be swayed by reviewers who complain that there clothes are not dry. This is ou second heatpump dryer (the first is at our vacation property) so we have some experience. First, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Choosing the correct drying setting requires some practise. Second, clothes from a heatpump dryer feel different from clothes from a heated dryer. They do not feel 'fried' but slightly moist. Don't worry, By the time you have folded the clothes they will feel closet dry.
Good but not great
Does what it says on the box, but the dryer settings are confusing and inconsistent. Can only choose certain options on some settings, and there's no clear reason why. There's a setting called "Bed Linens" and you can't turn on the anti-tangle option for it. Like who thought of that?
Also it's very hard to tell what each setting is actually doing temp wise. I think all new dryers appear to be similar this way, but I will say I am unimpressed with how much of a guessing game it is to find the right settings.
Also, even though these don't get nearly as hot as traditional dryers, it still gets hot enough to shrink your clothes.
