A trusted brand - Westinghouse.
Our second Westinghouse fridge and we are very happy with it.
Great size, practical design and great finish.
Loud. But good otherwise.
This is much louder than any older fridge I’ve owned. Not crazy loud. Not hurting eardrums… But well above what you’d expect from a new, nice Westinghouse fridge. It’s either completely silent or, after a clunk when the motor kicks in, quite loud for a fridge.
Everything else about it and Appliances Online is great. But, after following up with the manufacturer, they confirmed this fridge is louder and that it is explained in the manual (arguable. It explains which noises are “normal”. Doesn’t say “hey this is much louder than before”). Apparently it has something to do with a more environmentally conscious construction (parts and materials I assume? considering more noise generally means less efficiency).
I personally would prefer a lower volume constantly being produced than a very noticeable volume after periods of silence. If you have a small place, record music or really value complete silence - I recommend considering something else.
It needs to be made clear to customers that these fridges make more noise. No one buys a new fridge >$1K in 2021 thinking it might be louder than their old fridge, or that noise would be a factor at all. That’s a problem of the 1980’s.
