Apart from a Butlers Pantry, my kitchen is a sizeable 5m x 4m. So it needs a stylish elegant cooker that suits the area. My budget was $10K, so it's a sizeable investment in getting it right. I spent countless hours over 6 weeks researching all the allegedly superior brands. Ilve, Bosch, Falcon, Bertazzoni, Miele, Fisher and Paykel, Smeg, and of course Australia's own Westinghouse. I narrowed it down to 1 from each brand that had my cooker requirements, then was going to choose the best looking. But something in my head said to also check the reviews. I was absolutely shocked and frustrated. In all the most expensive brands, except Westinghouse which was also the cheapest, I found at least 2 out of 3 reviews showed very disappointed customers. From the cooker not functioning as it should from day 1, breakdowns only 2 weeks in, and then terrible after sales service and warranty issues. The average chance of getting a functional cooker and great service was only 1 out of 3 sales. Not a chance I was willing to take. So I had a closer look at Westinghouse that had maybe 1 in 30 reviews that weren't favourable, and most of those were people just moaning about minor issues that were quickly acknowledged and fixed by Westinghouse. I ended up buying the Westinghouse WFEP9717DD model from Westinghouse, which looks quite stunning and it was the only cooker that had the oven functions in wrting as well as icons, great idea. It was a quarter of my budget and I was happy to support a solid outstanding Australian company. Now that I've had it installed, we are thoroughly enjoying it. The seal is so good that we don't need to cook on the higher temperatures anymore, also don't have to cook for as long as we used to with our previous oven. The Westinghouse WFEP9717DD might have been the cheapest of the other European brands I was looking at, but it has better functionality, the design doesn't look cheap, and it feels solid and reliable to use. When you are making your decision, research the common faults and after sales service complaints, and most importantly don't discount our own Australian made Westinghouse appliances just because they might be cheaper. Supporting Westinghouse is the best decision we made.

I love my new oven. It looks great in my kitchen. It is the best oven I’ve ever had & cooks everything to perfection. So easy to use!
