Dont go here dodgy installation do not install to
Wired 43 amp oven to cable capable of only taking around 20 amps. So oven would literally only turn on. Removed the fuse when he left so couldn't be used as it was a fire risk. I had to pay for another electrician to come out and update the cable and RCD and re connect the whole thing. But they won't talk to me about negotiating some refund on the install.
Westinghouse oven
Excellent product. Delivery guy were first rate. Appliances online are a good company to deal with.
Decent for the size
Like most people, we were forced to choose a ceramic electric cooker instead of induction due to the 54cm space left by the gas cooker, and no inductions are made in that size. The stovetop is definitely not as fast and hot as the old gas, but after re-learning cooking times, it'll do just fine. I find the oven much better than the gas - cooks more evenly and the temperature is much more accurate.
Sadly ours arrived with a cracked stovetop, which due to the lighting and the installer not really paying attention, was installed with it and only noticed by us after the fact. We contacted Westinghouse directly and within a couple of weeks they replaced the hob part through their warranty. That was a good experience, although I'm not sure what kind of rough treatment it got through the delivery system to have managed to cause that crack. Needless to say, we're pretty paranoid now about how easily it might crack, so we found a silicoen mat that fit perfectly (Kmart Puppy Pad holder!) so we keep it covered always when not in use.
