I had my first white Sharp Carousel microwave for 19 years. I only got rid of it as it looked very old and crusty. Worked well though. This is is stronger and cooks faster. I love it. May Sharp never stop making microwaves. Simply the best!

We have only been using the Sharp 45L R45SVST inverter microwave oven for a week. We have a very old Samsung 40L that still works but was showing its age and we wanted to replace it with one with a similar keypad, where you can enter the time by pushing buttons and not having to turn a dial or some other method to select a time, and with a similar size. Sharp has a similar keypad. The 34L is too small so we had to settle on the 45L, unless we wanted to pay more and upgrade to a Convection Microwave. Even the flatbed microwaves are too small at 32L for a family. Hisense, LG, Panasonic and Samsung make microwaves in the 40 to 45L size, and even the new Samsungs have a different touchpad. The Sharp defrosts meat and chicken evenly. A plate of food is mostly evenly heated and does reheat food better than our old Samsung. It is much quicker to reheat or defrost by using the inverter technology as compared to a non-invertor. The 45L cavity is nice and big. However, we still need to cook something large in it, so I cannot comment yet if you had to cook a whole chicken. The display light and internal light are bright whereas the old Samsung light was dim in comparison. We are used to an external handle and we are slowly adjusting to the push button open and close. Opening is fine but when closing it makes a load noise as the door virtually slams shut every time as there is very little that you can do with one hand to make it close softly. Our only issue so far is that the fan keeps on working nearly after each use. As mentioned not every time but significantly more than the Samsung ever did. When you reheat a cup of coffee first thing in the morning for say 13 seconds when the microwave has never been used that day it will run for what feels like 30 seconds to cool down, but it was never warm or hot to begin with. The Sharp is far more expensive than the other microwaves of a similar size, so you can get better value elsewhere if the time setting method isn't important as mentioned above. Build quality appears good other than the fan issue, but time will tell. There is an adjustment to using the menu, but that we happen with any microwave you purchase if you change brands. So far we are happy, but not as content as I would have liked or expected. It would be great if Sharp Electronics could respond to the fan issue.
