Samsung 77 Inch S85F OLED
Hmm ... whilst it was a good price, the TV is not as good as the LG C series (albeit 65") it replaced. 1 - It doesn't handle motion anywhere near as good as the LG. 4K Netflix is particularly juddery. I have been all through the settings and spoken to Samsung. The LG simply worked fine 'out of the box'. 2 - The build quality isn't great. The screen isn't flat. It's quite mild but noticeable on room reflections when the TV isn't switched on. My other TV's, some much cheaper, are fine in this respect. It's just not as good as I had hoped it would be.
Great size and easy to set up
I upgraded from an LED Samsung TV and love the OLED screen. It was easy to set up and the screen resolution is excellent. I’m gradually exploring all the viewing options that this TV has to offer and there is so much.
Good budget large Oled TV
So I upgraded from an 10 year old 75 inch back lit Sony 4K TV, a budget unit and this olds TV is a really good upgrade at a fair price to get true blacks. It took a little while to set it up to the way that I like the image to look, though I found plenty of information on YouTube for this TV and was able configure the image to the way that I like it.. Yes I’m fussy.
The only downsides is it’s a plastic body TV. It doesn’t feel as firm as my old TV that had an aluminium body and the screen isn’t flat in all areas on the surface film layer, this doesn’t distort the image at all, just sometimes a reflection might catch it and you’ll see that the surface isn’t quite flat.
This TV brightness wise is ok in Standard mode during the day, maybe not for a super bright room. Night time it rocks for movies.
I think the TV was worth the money, and appliances online refunded me the difference when the TV dropped in price, they do this if it’s within seven days of delivery of your purchase. Delivery was super quick.
I’ll buy from these guys again.
