Picture quality is amazing. I'm seeing new details in films I'm very familiar with. These are DVD too, not Bluray! But I will have to upgrade the TV before it dies (>25yo HD Samsung) as it lacks HDR support which does make the picture darker than desired with this player. Panasonic has a fairly intuitive setup and menu system. It's not perfect though. My networked music collection is in ALAC (.m4a) which is supported by the player but it refuses to play any of it except the odd .wav or .MP3 scattered throughout. It does however play those files if I burn them to a disc. So this is rather disappointing. It's a small, light unit too, which always bothers me. Ultimately I think I would have preferred spending the extra money and getting the DP-UP9000. I can't be sure but the superior dedicated audio section of that unit shouldn't have a problem playing supported files from a network.
