Basic microwaving and sensor reheat are poor
This microwave has a bunch of features but it feels like none of them work amazingly well. Sensor reheat only works under extremely favorable perfect circumstances, and prepare to wait 5 mins to microwave something that should take 90 seconds. Seems very random in terms of temperature reached. Bit of a shame for the price.
Panasonic Panasonic NN-DS596BQPQ
Purchased our Panasonic Panasonic NN-DS596BQPQ to replace older Panasonic model, which served us well, but suddenly died! The new unit looks good on paper. Seems to work ok so far, and the microwave heats food quicker than old model. (although both same rating) However, I am disappointed that the oven temperature peaks out at 220 degrees, whereas our old model reached 250 degrees. Also not sure yet why baked fish dish we make (sealed in foil) was half raw when cooked for same time and at same temperature as previous oven? I tend to be now setting temperature about 10 degrees higher, and cooking for longer... weird! Am hopeful once we get used to it, all should be ok.
Other gripe is we seem to make more knob turns and button pushes than we did on our older unit!
Excellent all-in-one microwave
Great microwave - We are able to do much more than conventional 're-heat only' microwave that we used to have, mainly due to ability of grilling, air-frying, steam-cooking and reheating all in one. Only disappointing part is there is no light on the panel, so in dim-light or without turning on main lights in kitchen, need to use phone torch to see the functions.... would expect to have such basic features in this high price machine but overall happy with the purchase
