Makes life easier
The new dishwasher is great to use and certainly makes unloading that much easier by not having to bend especially when lifting heavier platters and dishes. Great buy!
Good dishwasher
Quiet, washes well, lift up bottom drawer is nice.
Four break downs in under four years...
We bought this dishwasher on 3 March 2021 and in that time it has had technician's out twice for the same fault. The hinges that allow the lower basket to lift are plastic and tend to loosen resulting in water leaking through the hinge holes into the side wall of the washer. The tech who came out the second time, just 2 months after the first repair stated that as the screws are plastic many techs are loathed to tighten them in fear of snapping the screws. He tightened them properly and it hasn't leaked since. The lift does however constantly get jammed and it is more good luck than good management in getting it moving freely again to lower it (usually by putting sideways pressure on the hinge mechanism, but that doesn't always work).
Of more concern however, is the heater and thermostat burning out which happened to us in early December 2023, of course it was out of the warranty period by now so I replaced them myself (I am a former technician myself). The parts were rather expensive but the fix worked... until today (11 Feb 25) where the same fault has re-occurred. I'm not bothered to pour good money after bad buying replacement heater and thermostat again so this pile of junk is heading for the tip.
When it is working it does a reasonable job of cleaning the dishes but there are some annoyances that go with it, for example;
1. The poor handle designs mean they fill with water and don’t drain properly so water drips from the underside of the handles constantly so you will get wet hands every time you open a draw, and
2. The blue material used to hold items like cups and glasses disintegrates over time so blue pieces of rubber stick to the edges of cups, glasses, bowls etc.
Think carefully before you shell out around $2000 for this washer as the added cost over other reputable brands is simply not worth it. My advice, for what it's worth, is to stay away from Electrolux dishwashers.
